We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Early Bird Maths, our new online club designed to help students in Years 3, 4, and 5 build numerical fluency and boost their confidence in maths. These quick, 30-minute sessions are the perfect way to start the day, focusing on essential mental maths skills like fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Rather than tackling lengthy word problems, students will work on sharpening their speed, accuracy, and mastery of fundamental concepts. All children understand that ⅛ is 0.125. However, they struggle to use this knowledge when solving for 1000 divided by 125 or when asked to find what ⅝ is as a decimal. This is the difference between memorisation and number fluency. A student with true number fluency is able to connect these concepts to each other and use them to complete rapid mental calculations.
Ideal for those preparing for the 11+ exams or wanting to solidify their maths skills, these engaging sessions offer a structured yet dynamic approach to learning. Students will also pick up valuable tips and tricks to tackle maths with ease.
Whether your child is aiming to improve their maths foundation or simply wants a strong start to their morning, Early Bird Maths is the perfect solution!
These sessions are tailored to align with what students will need to know for the CEM, CATs and ISEB exams.
